Video chat on Facebook using BadooChat

Yahoo! has it, Google has it, MSN has it, Skype has it, and many others have it, then why not Facebook? I’m talking about video chat. Facebook did give us the opportunity to chat with friends on Facebook, then it also let us group-chat. But why has not Facebook still come out with video chat? Well, the social network may have its own reasons, but Facebook app developers are not behind on this. I recently discovered a way to video chat with your Facebook friends, and anybody else who is on Facebook.

How? Using a very simple app called Bandoo Chat on Facebook. It doesn’t requires you to create a new account or sign in or anything, all this is taken care as you would have already logged into your Facebook account. All you have to do is go to the app, permit Adobe Flash to use your cam and mic, and get started. The app has a very simple interface. You get a list of all your online and offline friends on the right hand side, a text chat window in the middle, and the left hand side pane is divided into two parts. The upper part displays the video of your friend, and the bottom part displays your video.

If you want to do a video chat with your friend, you have to first invite that friend to use the app, if that person is not already using it. Once your friend accepts the invitation, you can get started. Inviting friends is very simple, all you have to do is click on their names on the right hand side pane. An invitation message will be sent to them so that they can join you.

One unique feature in the app is that you can video chat with random people on Facebook, you dont need to have them on your friends list or personally know them, complete strangers. I know what is going through most of the readers’ minds now. And yes, that kind of things do happen. I tried it out, and trust me, I saw some really unpleasant things. So do it at your own risks.
